There are three local medical facilities. “Community Memorial Health center” in South Hill serves cardiac-intensive care, surgery, nuclear medicine, radiology, physical therapy, and maternity. W.S. Hundley Annex in South Hill is an extended intermediate care facility. The Halifax Regional Hospital with services in surgery, radiology, intensive care and maternity is located in South Boston. Modern medical clinics are located in Chase City and Clarksville. The Chase City facility has three physicians, a nurse-practitioner, and a nursing staff. Two dentists, one optometrist, one mental health clinic, and one public health clinic also serve the community.
